JOB TITLE: Slitter Machine Operator 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

   

      1.Read work order and check that material complies with specifications. 

  1. Pull material from warehouse and check counts. 
  1. Load roll of vinyl onto machine with one-ton electric lift. 
  1. Set multiple rotary slitting wheels in position. 
  1. Thread vinyl through feed roller. 
  1. Run set-up and check measurements for accuracy using a tape or ruler. 
  1. Measures roll widths to stay within tolerance. 
  1. Remove slit rolls and stack on skid. 
  1. Maintain productivity levels and quality requirements. 
  1. Fill out all appropriate production paperwork with material usage. 
  1. Deliver material to the next process. 
  1. Perform simple machine maintenance. 
  1. Communicate production issues with Supervisor. 
  1. Assist in inventory control. 
  1. Other duties assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma of General Education Degree; one to three years of related experience and/or training. 

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense and understand to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions. 

 OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Ability to read tape measure and use calculator. Must have good visual ability to identify quality and safety issues. 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
